              The Gräbelesberg is a 913.2-meter-high (above sea level) promontory in the Eyach Valley (Swabian Alb) near the Albstadt district of Laufen an der Eyach in the Zollernalb district of Baden-Württemberg. The rocky bastion, which juts far into the valley and drops steeply on all sides, offers a unique view across the Eyach Valley to the Alb foothills. Its neighboring mountains on the Alb escarpment are the Lochenhörnle to the northwest and the Tierberg to the southeast; opposite, across the Eyach Valley, lie the Böllat and the Heersberg.

              In the area connecting to the Hossingen plateau, two historic ramparts indicate earlier settlement of the Gräbelesberg plateau. Artifacts found at the front rampart (Gräbelesberg Castle) have been dated to the early 6th century. The rear rampart dates from the Hallstatt period (from 800 BC).

              The steep edge of the Rote Wand (Red Wall), a rock band on the western upper edge of the valley connecting to the plateau to the south, is a protected geotope. At the foot of the slope, wetlands (Höllwald) form in depressions left by landslides.
