Nickern Castle stands on the remains of a 12th century moated castle. The reconstruction of the main building was carried out at the end of the 17th century in the rural baroque style, the tower was built in 1870. In the last decade of the 20th century, the castle was regionally known for its extensive club life, events and the Nickern Castle Festival. The property is now privately owned, but can still be rented for events.
