Our hike began at Monte Café. There you can also visit the coffee museum.
We stayed on a forest path for almost the entire hike (except for our steep and slippery descent (short cut) behind "Novo Destino".
The path offers little that is spectacular, except for quite interesting insights into the agricultural economy of the region, which is characterised by sustainable cultivation methods. The village of Novo Destino is supposed to play a pioneering role in this.
The waterfalls at the end of the path are all the more spectacular! On the right you can see the first one. If you also want to see the other 2 or 3 (depending on the amount of water), you have to go down the riverbank and continue up the river on the left. You have to be able to climb a bit and take your time, as the rocks are very slippery.
On the way back, we skipped the shortcut and walked the full forest trail, passing the settlement of "Formosa".
Extra equipment:
- Water shoes with a grippy sole!!!
