After the bridge at the Expo 1958 in Brussels has done its job, she came to Duisburg to allow the crossing of the A3 in the zoo. In 1997, the zoo got its new - planted - bridge and the old bridge wandered a few hundred meters towards the cross Kaiserberg and now serves as a pedestrian bridge. Also from the highway thanks to the striking yellow tip clearly visible. Nice view for friends of highway photography. 😉

The Expo Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that crosses Federal Highway 3 since August 8, 2000 in Duisburg-Neudorf-Nord as part of the Forsthausweg and leads to the Duisburg city forest.
It originally served as access to the German pavilions designed by Egon Eiermann and Sep Ruf at the Expo 58 in Brussels. After the exhibition, it was built in Duisburg as a zoo bridge over the then only four-lane A3. When the A3 was widened to six lanes, it was set up at its present location on Forsthausweg and extended accordingly.
