The planetary path that leaves from the castle represents the distances between the different planets to scale. During that time, mom and dad can enjoy a drink and a drink in the adjacent Carriage House.

In the beautiful Beisbroek domain, which is located around the Cozmix visitor center, you can take a walk through a scale model of the solar system. The planets are represented by sculptures by Jef Claerhout.

Each step you take is equivalent to 9 million kilometers! The planet trail starts in front of the entrance to Cozmix and the nature center, at the height of the sun, next to the sundial. The actual distance is 835 meters and takes you past all the planets, the asteroid belt, Pluto and the Ice Dwarfs. Walk along the planetary path and find out that the distance from the sun to Neptune is 30 times the distance from earth to sun!

The "planet trail" of the Beisbroek public observatory in Bruges is highly recommended.
In a planetary path, the distances between the sun and the planets are represented to scale, usually within an easily bridgeable distance. In Beisbroek this distance is 835 m. This corresponds to a scale of 1/9,000,000,000 Each step you take therefore means an actual distance of 9 million kilometers.
Each planet is represented by its mythological representative. The sculptures were made by artist Jef Claerhout. With each figure you see a small sphere, which shows the size of the planet to scale. For practical reasons (the spheres would be much too small with the same scale) this is a different scale: 10 cm is in reality 18,000 km.
