Already the ascent to the "heavenly ladder" has it all. Sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are two valuable companions for this section. Alpine experience is not necessary. The many dead spruce trees in the vicinity are somewhat depressing. But the path itself is neatly cleared.

"Stairway to Heaven", Alpine hiking trail. Ascent to the Anton Günther Höhe (499 m - picture 159-163).
The Anton Günther Höhe is a hill above the Wolkenstein Switzerland, which bears the name of the Erzgebirge folk poet and singer Anton Günther (1876 - 1937).
The Wolkenstein Erzgebirge branch association, founded in 1878, acquired the hill in 1911, built a shelter and opened up the hiking area.
From this height with benches and a playground, there is a good view over the Erzgebirge. Among other things, you can see the Pöhlberg, the Fichtelberg, the Bärenstein mountain and even the Czech Hassberg. Anton Günther was an Erzgebirge folk poet, composer and local singer.
