The last work of the prematurely and suddenly deceased Croatian defender Nika Lučić, who was nicknamed the Artist by his comrades because of his talent. In 2021, he completed it just before he died.
The locals of Mrčevo took part in placing the stone rock and the life-size goat statue itself, made of aluminum and weighing over 200 kilograms, at the entrance to Mrčevo. It was a kind of homage to a man who was loved in his region, a man who was adorned with love for his homeland and respect for his native land.
"The story of the goat is a specific one. It used to be hard to live in these parts of our country, on poor land, in the karst, people had cattle, there were no standards that we enjoy today. Our family also had goats and a goat, and when we sold the goats, the goat ran away and we had no idea what happened to it. And then after four or five years it appeared above Trstenog, no one knew where it came from or how it appeared. When he heard the bleating, my brother went there, took a photo and started with the creation of a life-size sculpture, made of aluminum. He was somewhat fascinated with that story about the goat. The sculpture weighs over 200 kilos. When Niko started working on it, we thought about placing it somewhere within our houses, but when Niko passed away, as a family we agreed to place it in a public place that can also become a tourist attraction of this region" - Ivo Lučić Mindžuha, brother of the late Niko.
