          The Schrammtor is a striking rock formation on the western edge of the Schrammsteine. It forms a natural passage between high sandstone walls and is part of a well-maintained hiking trail. The path through the Schrammtor is natural, includes steps, and leads directly into the heart of the Schrammsteine. The soil consists of fine sand, formed by the weathering of the rocks. The Schrammtor is located on an important connecting route in the hiking trail network and is, for example, part of the fourth stage of the Malerweg (Painter's Trail). It offers no view, but is a striking scenic spot on the way to the Schrammstein viewpoint. See: saechsische-schweiz.de/ausflugsziele/schrammtor
