The village of Tagarro is practically surrounded by hills, these elevations are locally known as Cabeços; the Cabeço das Penas is the continuation of the Montejunto mountain range, a hill with a rocky summit. In the extension of this hill we find the Cabeço das Silheiras; approximately to the east of the village there is another hill called “Cabeço do Ladrão” (Ladrão’s Headland), and to the southwest we have the Cabeço do Vale dos Judeus/Azemaneira. These hills are basically made up of arable land. To the south we have a set of rocky elevations called Cabeços das Pederneiras, which delimit to the south the rustic buildings (the so-called farms) of the farmers of Tagarro.
