The desert church of St. Nicholas under the Krudum (Czech: Kostel sv. Mikuláše pod Krudumem) is a legendary former religious building in the Imperial Forest, Czech Republic. The church, which probably perished in the 16th century, could not be located for 500 years; its remains were only rediscovered in 2002.

Nothing is known about the origins of the church. Since she is the saint. Nicholas as the patron saint of merchants and was located on an old trade route from Eger via Königsberg, Schlaggenwald, Petschau and Luditz to Prague, suggests that it was built as a wayside church. On the other hand, the Krudum was one of the centers of silver and tin mining in the Kaiserwald in the 13th century.

In 1253, a Crusader plaque with a red star (Knightly Order of the Cross Lords with the Red Star; de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kreuzherren_mit_dem_Roten_Stern) mentions the owner of the Church of St. Nicholas. The founding of the church is probably related to the start of mining activity in the area and, more recently, to signs of contemporary settlement related to Testo's activities. Its gradual decline in the High Middle Ages can be attributed primarily to the loss of importance of the trade route and the nearby customs house, particularly as a result of the turbulent period of the Thirty Years' War.
At the end of the 19th century there was practically no trace of the church in the dense forest. In the 1980s, researchers repeatedly drew attention to the possibility of identifying a historically documented church on the site of a prominent hill on the road from today's Hrušková to Třídomí. Between 2002 and 2006, the Karlovy Vary Museum carried out archaeological investigations here, which clearly confirmed the older assumptions. Ultimately, the church was completely gutted after a geodetic survey and subsequently reconstructed in the form of a controlled ruin with small stone additions, including the use of some found elements of the window and portal cladding.
