        The pearl of the Saaletal, that's what it's called. The Leuchtenburg is picturesquely and stately above Kahla. From here you have a wonderful view up the Saale valley towards Rudolstadt and the Saale down towards Jena. One can argue about the meaning and aesthetics of the cultivation, I myself think it doesn't really fit into the Middle Ages.

          The Leuchtenburg is also called the pearl of the Salletal.               The Bridge of Wishes is certainly a highlight for some people. But the history of the porcelain world is also interesting.

              If you don't want to go to the castle grounds, you have the opportunity to browse in the museum shop, and a small adjacent café with a great view invites you to linger or warm up.

              A well-developed path leads from the parking lot up to the castle.
