It is a beautiful quiet forest in the Samtgemeinde Gellersen
You hardly meet people and you can recover very well from the city noise.

In 1975 there was a forest fire disaster in Südheide. The extinguishing work turned out to be difficult because it was pine monoculture. As a consequence, the pine trees in the Radbrucher- / Einehofer forest were thinned and underplanted with beeches. Source: District forester Radbruch.

To provide better orientation for fire brigades who come to help who do not know the terrain, and for emergencies, the Gellersen community has set up boulders with engraved designations at the large crossroads of the communal connecting paths, such as here: Dönsenberg.
