The core is a rectangular fieldstone ashlar building from the 2nd half of the 13th century, radically changed after 1892 and in 1903, according to a design by G.v.Seidel, fitted with a mighty neo-Gothic south tower with high brick pinnacles. At the choir there is a crypt annexed by the v. Hertefeld, which was based here after the Thirty Years' War. In 1992 the crypt was restored. The pointed arched step portal in the west and two southern portals, one of which is added, have been preserved from the medieval building. In 2004 the restoration was completed.

the stone church was built in the 13th century, destroyed in the Thirty Years' War and rebuilt in 1660 with a wooden tower. In 1892 the church was destroyed by a fire caused by a lightning strike. It was then rebuilt in its current form. Inside, among other things, the princely pews of the zu Eulenburg family.
