The Marchdamm Chapel was built in 1904/05 on the occasion of the completion of the Marchfeld-Schutzdamm, which took 40 years to build. As part of the Danube regulation, dams were built on the Danube and in the mouth area of the March to protect the Marchfeld. The chapel is dedicated to St. Florian.
