Golden Hands was a large amateur art centre in 's-Heerenberg in the province of Gelderland between 1975 and 1999. It was considered "the largest amateur creative centre in the world" and was located in the former Don Rua monastery, which had previously housed the forerunner of the Africa Museum.
1949 The first Golden Hands exhibition takes place in Ede, organised by the Edese Commercial Club. Hundreds of participants exhibit their creative work in tents on the grounds behind the De Reehorst cinema. During the ten days that the event lasts, it attracts more than 100,000 visitors.
