        The Kulturwehr Breisach was built in the early 1960s and put into operation in 1965. It serves to regulate the Rhine water level, in particular at high tide. The flood area in the upper water of the weir is bounded in the north in the direction of Breisach by a wing dam, in the east by the Rhine main dam and in the west by a flood dam on the French Rhine.
