The Naviglio Martesana, also known as the Naviglio Piccolo, reaches as far as Milan and originates right here. It is an artificial canal built for commercial purposes in 1457, and which houses numerous engineering works along the way, including by Leonardo da Vinci.

Completed in 1471, the Naviglio Martesana was a huge hydraulic work of the time.
Used for the transport of things and people, on both banks there was the road that was traveled by the horses that pulled the boats along this important waterway that connected the towns with Milan.
Now the canal is no longer used as a transport route and the site has been transformed into a cycle / pedestrian path of 36 kilometers in total.
