The best way to reach Lake Upia is from the hiking car park at Glieshof at the end of the Matscher Valley.
The path also leads over the Upiaalm. (Upi Alm).
The Alm is the highest Kuhalm in the Vinschgau.

The Upisee, also Upiasee, lies at 2,552 m above sea level in the Ötztal Alps at the foot of the Saldur ridge. Starting from the Glieshof in the Matschertal, a path leads to the Upialm and a path further to the idyllic mountain lake.
