The Almhotel Glieshof is located at the head of the Matschertal. We strengthened ourselves here after our hike to the Upisee with a delicious Kaiserschmarrn. Highly recommended!

Even if you're not a hotel guest, you can stop by here and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat on the terrace in summer. The Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended.

From the Glieshöfe a path leads up to the Saldurseen and, if you want, from there to the Oberretteshütte. But beware, a very difficult descent that absolutely requires sure-footedness and a head for heights.
