In 1920, Father Jules Hannay organized the complete demolition of the old church in order to replace it with a new Saint-Vincent church which was erected on the occasion of the Universal Exhibition of 1930.

The architect Robert Toussaint, in charge of this project, did a good job with the result of a modern church, tinged with Art Deco, blending perfectly with the times.

Église Saint-Vincent de Liège is a church located in the Belgian city of Liège, at the intersection of Rue de Fétinne and Avenue Albert Mahiels in the Fétinne district (sub-district of Vennes). The church is dedicated to Saint Vincent, a famous Spanish martyr who lived in the 4th century and is the patron saint of vintners. The church has a modernist style with Art Deco influences and was built in the 1930s by architect Robert Toussaint.

The church replaced an older one that was built in the 12th century and suffered from floods, bombings and political troubles. The old church was located near the confluence of the Meuse and the Fourchu Fossé, a small stream that is now covered. The old church had several chapels and was decorated with paintings and sculptures.
