The Kozlovic winery, one of the 20 top wineries in Istria, is beautifully situated below the Momjan castle ruins. Similar to Roxanich in Motovun, the winery is highly endowed and has unusual wines to offer.
Wine tastings are subject to a fee and must be booked in advance, which unfortunately didn't work out this time. But you can still enjoy a few wines with cold dishes and if you beg something, a sip of a third or fourth variety. Indirect wine tasting, so to speak.
The dark white wines (orange in colour) are also unusual here.
The winery is extremely modern, the owner is rather down-to-earth, inconspicuous and personable. The location is simply beautiful on a slight rise, with the river valley and vineyards below and the castle on the hillside opposite.
