Directly on Hohwacht's main beach is a unique lake platform. It was named "Hohwachter Flunder" (Hohwacht Flounder) because of its unique shape, reminiscent of a flatfish. The crowning glory of the promenade's redesign, it now stands directly on Hohwacht's spa beach – the 370 m² lake platform made of oak planks. The supporting steel structure is suspended from an approximately 24 m high steel pylon, which also serves as the focal point of this attraction. From the beach at the DLRG (German Rescue Service) tower, a 3 m wide, handicapped-accessible access path leads directly to the flounder. It splits again shortly before the platform and runs past the pylon on both sides. Whether you're just stopping by or attending one of the events, such as concerts, beach services, the magic show, or other cultural highlights – you're sure to experience the special atmosphere.
