From Sandgasse, at Einstein height, walk in the direction of Park Schönthal, turn left immediately after the city wall and follow the upper narrow path. (I would recommend doing this in daylight, not least for safety reasons😬.)
Here the tower towers, unfortunately quite inconspicuous due to the "green". On the other side of the wall, in front of the entrance to the park, there is a small playground with a slide right in front of the tower. It is probably not possible to visit the tower. At least that's what I conclude from the overgrown grid and the missing information boards. 🤔😅

The Schenkenturm, also known as the Witches' Tower or Watchtower, was built in the 15th century at the same time as the city wall. Dietrich Schenk von Erbach, whose family coat of arms is found in the wall, had it built as part of the city's expansion. Historically, the tower was probably nameless, as there were more than 15 city towers in Aschaffenburg, most of which had no name. In the resolution proposal submitted to the Planning and Transport Senate, the city administration chose the name "Schenkenturm," based on the builder and his coat of arms. The tower was also popularly known as the "Ghost Tower" or "Brewery Tower." The Schenkenturm has a square base and is three stories high. The upper floors, with larger windows, served as the watchman's quarters.
