The Princely Castle of Geisa opened its doors to the Point Alpha Academy in September 2011 after a general renovation.
The former district court, the baroque castle, the former prison and the Protestant church form the castle square ensemble of Geisa.

Fine place to stop, but almost a bit too classy for hikers. At the back of the castle you have a magnificent view of the Ulster.

The three-story building, which is estimated to have been built in the 16th to 17th centuries, initially served as a winery or storage room (especially as a granary) and was used as the seat of the district court of the Geisa office from around 1700 until after the Second World War. In 1719 the protruding stair tower was added. The stones from the former castle or office building on Rockenstuhl are said to have been used in the structural changes on Schlossplatz. Above the door of the stair tower are the coats of arms of the Fulda prince abbots Placidus von Droste (1678–1700) and Constantin von Buttlar (1714–1726) - the latter is marked with the year 1719. The roof structure and tower beams are said to have been affected in the major fire in the upper town in 1858.

The castle was built on the Gangolfiberg around 1710 on behalf of the Fuldar abbot Adalbert von Scheifras. The construction was carried out according to plans by the master builder Johann Dientzenhofer. It served as a hunting lodge and summer residence for the Fulda prince abbots and prince-bishops. Today the “Point Alpha Foundation” and a restaurant are housed in the castle. The cellar vaults and some of the Baroque style rooms are open to the public.
