Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren (or Vrouwetoren) is the remains of the demolished Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekapel on the corner of Nieuwehaven and Vrouwesteeg in the Dutch city of Gouda. The chapel, dedicated to Mary, with tower was built in the period 1489 to 1494[1] on behalf of the Rosary Brotherhood. The chapel served as a poor school for girls, where they received free lessons in reading and religion. After the reform, the chapel was used for the worship services of Protestants, before they started using St. John's Church. The benches were transferred to St. John's Church in 1574. The chapel was subsequently demolished, but the tower remained standing.
