The sign is right at the beginning of the path. The Kirchenweg is a path between Ellenbach and Happurg. the name comes from old times, so the Ellenbachers went to Happurg via this dirt road to the church. The church path was used by Ellenbach churchgoers until the 1960s. Magnificent views of Hersbruck, Happurg and the surrounding mountains.

Church path to Happurg. When the Johanniskirche in Hersbruck did not yet exist, it was the shortest route for Ellenbach believers to go to church in Happurg.
Today there are great views of Hersbruck, the Pegnitz valley, and the Happurger Baggersee.
