Timar was the first town on the road, it is an Aymara village hidden in the Calisama ravine with very friendly and hospitable people. There are places to sleep, a restaurant and a grocery store. I had breakfast at Ana María's house, with local products that they grow in the town's orchards or take from their herds. The church belongs to a constructive typology typical of the Chilean foothills developed during the evangelization of the indigenous villages on the old silver route, an important commercial route between the silver mines of Potosí and the port of Arica. The buildings are constructions with a special charm that stand out in the simple rural environment of the villages, they belong to the style called "Iglesias del Altiplano" and appear in many towns in the Andes in Chile, Argentina and Bolivia.
