The Golgotha group consists of a wooden cross with Christ on a small stone niche chapel, flanked by two chapels with statues of Mary (left) and John (right). According to the inscriptions, the chapels date from 1739 and consist of a hard stone base with superstructure.

A striking point for anyone walking from Valkenburg along the Geul towards Oud-Valkenburg: The three statues. Opposite the bridge over the Geul are four statues known as "The Three Statuettes". The group originated as the so-called Calvary group: Jesus on the cross, flanked by Mary and John.

Later, a statuette of Saint Roch was placed on the pedestal of Jesus. Behind it are three linden trees and an old marl quarry. The niches of Mary and John are the oldest parts of the sculpture group and were built in 1739.

Around 1900, the crucifix was replaced. It has a neo-Gothic pedestal on which the fourth statuette is located. The statues of John and Mary are not originals: they are copies of earlier, unfortunately stolen statues from 1973.
