Woudrichem is a beautiful fortified town on the Merwede river. In the center you will find historic streets and buildings. The cannons can still be seen on top of the 16th century city wall.

From the castle Loevenstein to Woudrichem is not far by bike. Small ferry with the boat Hugo translate and drink at the pier coffee or something. Then a little further to Woudrichem worth the way alone because of the imposing church with a mighty tower. Marina and mill also worth seeing.

Woudrichem is a sturdy fortress lying on the Merwede and has good neighbors such as the Gorinchem fortress and Loevestein Castle. This fortified town is worth a visit. Meander along the centuries-old facades, visit the historic harbor and contemplate this history on a beautiful terrace. The area is excellent for walking and cycling and with the ferry you can make a round along the entire Fortress Triangle.
