The Oude Haven is on the edge of the city center. This is where the global port for which Rotterdam is known today was born. The first ships sailed from here as early as the 13th century. The integrated maritime museum is also well worth seeing.

Oude Haven, the old port

The Oude Harbor (Old Harbor) somehow has a very special atmosphere.
In the oldest port in Rotterdam you feel like you have been transported to another time.
On one side is modern Rotterdam with its cube houses and the elegant Markthal and here are the old trading houses and old sailing ships.
The port was built in the 14th century and has a small shipyard where historic ships are given a new, old shine.

The white house in the old harbor was built in 1898 and, at 43 meters, was one of the first high-rise buildings in Europe.
