The half-timbering of the house has been completely preserved and lined with bricks. The gable of the half-timbered house contains the dated inscription.
In 1989, the smithy was listed as a monument and turned into a museum.

Holzhausen II is a district in the municipality of Hille in the Minden-Lübbecke district in East Westphalia.
It is north of the Mittelland Canal. In the east, Holzhausen II borders on the Stemmer district of the city of Minden, in the north on the Friedewalde district of the city of Petershagen, in the west on the Hiller district of Nordhemmern and in the south on the Hiller district of Hartum and the Minden district of Hahlen.
