Nørre Nebel Church is a Romanesque village church from around 1200.

Choir and nave are in the classic size ratio (1:2). The nave was extended to the west around 1250 and the chancel to the east in the Gothic period. The original east and west walls are marked in the floor. The tower and the porch were added in the late Gothic period. Tufa, granite and brick were used as building materials. The Gothic fresco paintings were reduced during a major repair of the choir in 1998. Well-preserved, Gothic winged altarpiece with a Renaissance frame from 1625. The wooden carvings of the pews were made by the peasant artist Meckel Tuesen in 1576 with imaginative acanthus motifs and grotesque face masks. His name and that of the donor are carved on the 2 western cheeks and the names of the then landowners, Laurids Barfod and Mrs Anne, on the eastern ones. Under the husband's initials L.B. one finds the ancestral coat of arms "Barfod" (barefoot).
