The village church of Witzin is a sacred monument from the 13th century. The western tower is dated somewhat younger. It is a simple single-aisled fieldstone building in the transitional Romanesque-Gothic style. The nave is accompanied by a rectangular chancel and a recessed squat tower on a square plan. The pointed spire with a diamond roof is covered with wooden shingles, which is a rarity in Mecklenburg. Arched windows combined in pairs illuminate the interior.
Inside, ribbed vaults hide the roof truss. In addition to the well-kept neo-Gothic furnishings, the eight-sided granite baptismal font from 1300 is striking.

There is an old linden tree in front of the church. What's special about it is that it's hollow. I've only seen that in oak trees before.
