The Marne estate was first mentioned in a document as early as 1508.
Until 1828 there was also Marne II: It was right next to it, towards Geversdorf.
After its dilapidated buildings were demolished in 1828, the owner combined the lands into one estate.
The Marne manor house is one of the last estates in the typical Lower Saxony style.
It was built at the beginning of the 19th century and is one of the last "two-story houses" in Geversdorf.
The greatest weight, namely the harvest stored in the attic, was distributed over two mighty oak beams. The outer walls could be relatively thin and still be safe.
The three-axle dwarf house above the entrance contributes to the representative effect, as does the large rondel in front of the entrance.
The large building had a hall eight bays long.
With its close-meshed half-timbered framework and the double gable projection (the dwelling), it is a typical example of the stately construction of the marsh peasants of that time.
