The ski lift was at the Thüringer Hütte at 720 to 785 meters. Like most lifts in the Rhön, it was north-facing. Especially families and beginners used the lift. The lift served four runs ranging from easy to moderate. In addition to the Rothang lift on Kreuzberg, the facility was the only one on the Bavarian side to have floodlights. 2015/16 was the last season at Ilmenbergift. The plant was decommissioned after 45 years.
