The berceau is popularly called the Trouwlaantje because the bridal couples can reach the town hall in a romantic way through this lane. In earlier times it was called 'the O.L. Vrouwelaantje'. This is because the current town hall served as a chapel for the statue of Our Lady ter Linde.
