Cozy log cabin in the Bündner Herrschaft, above the Rhine Valley near Maienfeld, in the western part of the Rätikon. The cozy summer mountain hiking hut is located just below the tree line, on the way to Falknis or over the Fläscher Fürggli and via the Schesaplanahütte to the Carschinahütte. Remarkable panoramic view of the Pizol area, past the Calanda to the right to the Rheinwaldhorn, and the area around Chur and Lenzerheide.
The first section initially follows a wide cart track from St. Luzisteig. Follow the signs to the Enderlinhütte. After two stream crossings, the path narrows to a single-track trail that quickly and steeply gains height in a wild zigzag around the Tristelstein, mostly in the shade of trees or through fields of mountain pines. After around 2 hours you reach the Enderlinhütte, where you can take a short break.
The second section is now an alpine path that initially swings up under the many rock towers. The most challenging part of the hike is the crossing under these towers to the east. Many passages are secured with wire ropes, but surefootedness is still required here.
After you have overcome these many small cliffs, streams and corners, you can see the steep grassy slope that leads us to the Ebener Fürggli. From the Fürggli you still cannot see the top of the Falknis (2,565 m), but you can see the picturesque Fläscher valley.
Hike from St. Luzisteig to the Falknis with a stop at the Enderlinhütte:
You turn north and continue to gain altitude, circling numerous small and insignificant elevations until the summit cross of the Falknis suddenly appears briefly for the first time. After another quarter of an hour you have reached the last cairn and are standing under the small summit, which can be conquered in a few minutes.
