There was already a sanctuary in 1186 on the site of the current church as evidenced by a charter of the Abbey of Grestain.

The facade is in Flamboyant Gothic style and is the only surviving part of the old Gothic building. There are also some Renaissance elements. Most of the church was burned down by the Huguenots during the wars of religion in the 16th century.

Most of the building was rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries, which explains the particular shape of the domed bell tower, rare in Normandy, but which evokes those found in eastern France. The interior is entirely decorated with murals, as well as the exposed wooden vault.

The building was classified as a historical monument in 1980.
