At the Waterfall Entrance of the Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world, you can marvel at two attractions: the Burj Khalifa and the romantic water features of the Dubai Fountains.
The water, light and sound show starts every day at around 6 p.m. - every half hour - for the duration of a selected music track. The music changes every 30 minutes, as does the fountain play. The Dubai Water Show is approximately 25% larger than the Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas, making it the largest water fountain ever built.
The music track “Sama Dubai” was written specifically for the Ruler of Dubai, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Whether “Thriller” by Michael Jackson, the Titanic theme song “My heart will go on”, “I will always love you” by Whitney Houston or “Baba yetu” by Christopher Tin... - we could list many more examples here. Anyone who has the time as a visitor waits another 30 minutes. Then the game of fountains begins again. Which title is coming now?
The Dubai Fountains play on Burj Lake, directly below the Burj Khalifa. If you leave the Dubai Mall to the sea side, you are right in front of it. Even though a lot of people always flock outside from the mall during the fountain's scheduled opening times, you can always get a great spot to marvel at the spectacle up close.
If you want to see the fountain from above, choose one of the restaurants in the Dubai Mall on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor that face the lake. The view down is magnificent and you can watch several shows during dinner. In Souk Al Bahar opposite there are restaurants with large terraces from which you can easily watch the fountains play.
The “Dubai Fountain Lake Ride” is another way to view the water fountains up close – from a boat. Tickets for the spectacular boat trip in an Abra are available directly at Burj Lake for around 15 euros per person. Dubai Fountain performances end at 10pm on weekdays and around 11pm on public holidays.
