On Zelinska gora, about 5 kilometers from Sveti Ivan Zelina, is the stone fortress Zelingrad. In historical sources it is mentioned as Zelyn, Zelna, Zelnawar. It was created in three stages, in the 13th century, after 1490 and after 1535. It has been mentioned as a ruin since 1635. It consisted of a central residential part with an inner courtyard and an outer defensive wall with three semicircular defensive towers. It is one of the most important medieval burgs in the wider Zagreb area. It is owned and managed by the Sveti Ivan Zelina Museum.
