The first parish church, dedicated to San Martino and prior to the year 1000, was demolished in 1740, together with the bell tower, in order to use the building materials for the "factory" of the new church.
1745
Completed in its essential parts, the church was solemnly blessed on November 14, 1745 and the Holy Sacrament was carried in solemn procession from the old church to the new one.
At that moment the toponym of “S. Martino Vecchio ”to indicate the old parish church but also the neighborhood that surrounds it.
The relics and all the furnishings were then transferred: statues, paintings, marbles, vestments and more.
1786
The heads of the Torre Boldone family gathered to decide to complete the work on the church. It was on that occasion that for the first time there was talk of a real bell tower, in masonry, more dignified than the wooden structure, placed in front of the church, which supported the bells.
1818 - 1953
The bells laid in 1818 were requisitioned in the period of the last war: the current ones were laid in 1953
1864
On 25 September 1864, the new church was solemnly consecrated with the title of St. Martin of Tours and the relics of Saints Benedict, Vincent and Valentine were placed in the altar
1892
In 1892, on a project by Elia Fornoni, the extension of the church towards the churchyard was built.
1894
The internal floor of the church was laid in white Seravezza and black Varenna marble.
