After careful adaptation work, the Altenmarkt-Thenneberg train station, built in 1877, shines in a new, old splendor and invites its visitors to experience the "energy of stopping" in their very own way.

Even the stage and seating in the small, 50-80 person hall, the heart of this stop for art from all directions, tells its own story. The audience can choose between folding seats that were installed in the Salzburg Festival Hall or parts of the former seating in the Graz Orpheum.

The artists enter the small stage, which originated from a Waldviertel inn, after they had been able to prepare for their performance backstage in an almost 100-year-old railway carriage. When there are no events, this old, restored luggage wagon serves as pilgrim accommodation for people on their way along the Via Sacra from Vienna to Mariazell.

As if it had missed the last departure in 2005, there is a Uerdinger rail bus on the old tracks in front of the station building, which seems to have found a nice new purpose as a gastronomic meeting place for the public and artists on event days.
