The Ponte dell'Acqua owes its name to a nearby modern building belonging to the Finale aqueduct, for the construction of which blocks of stone taken from the bridge were used. The single arch structure of the bridge rests directly on the rock without any containment work. Towards the valley the furrows left by the wheels of the wagons are still visible on the rock: these are not attributable with certainty to the Roman era, but undoubtedly testify to the continuity of use of the bridge even in the following centuries.
