Welcome to the monumental country house Huis Kruisvoorde! Originally this was a so-called havezate, a fortified castle. The house was reportedly plundered in 1572. Fortunately, parts have been preserved and added over the centuries, giving it the jaunty appearance of today.

Originally, "Huize Kruisvoorde" was a manor. In the mid-16th century, Andries van Mermuden was the owner of Kruisvoorde, which was also called Crusefort, Cruystenvoorde or Cruysvoorde. That building was, according to information from the Voorst archaeological circle, plundered in 1572 and made "completely roofless". The square tower on the northeast side was added in the early 20th century. This tower was hit by a shell on April 12, 1945, during the liberation by the Canadian troops. Kruisvoorde was registered as a national monument in the monument register in 1971.
