The tradition of the prince's garden helped the princes to become independent and to take on responsibility. The princes were solely responsible for the garden and the aviaries.
Prince Albert took this tradition with him to the English royal family and has since found its way into many other royal houses as a method of raising young monarchs. This custom is still practiced in some countries today.

In the Prince's Garden you can see the finch cage, where wooden 🐦🐦 are on display. The rhododendron blossom right next to the 🏡 was beautiful.

2019 marked the 200th anniversary of the births of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. The Bavarian Palace Administration took this special anniversary as an opportunity to revive the so-called Prince's Garden in the Rosenau Palace Park. It is not known how long the garden existed. In 1865 the adjoining pheasant warden's house was demolished and replaced by the "Kavaliershaus", which still exists today. Parts of the prince's garden may have been changed at that time, but at the end of the 19th century the aviary and summer house were still on the site.
