Sierck-les-Bains is a French municipality on the right bank of the Moselle in the France-Luxembourg-Germany border triangle with a fortress worth seeing. The inhabitants call themselves Sierckois. Nickname: "Di Siirker Ieseln" (translated: "The Siercker donkeys").

The castle of the Dukes of Lorraine sits sensuously on a rocky promontory in the Moselle Valley above the town of Sierck-les-Bains. It was likely built in the 11th century on the ruins of the "Circum Castellum," a Gallo-Roman fort. Of the original castle, which was destroyed in 1643, only a short, solid section of wall remains on the plateau.
The ruins have since been secured and partially reconstructed. A visit is worthwhile – not least for the views.
Tour duration: approx. 1–1.5 hours, last admission 1 hour before closing.
