        The Luisenturm, around 300 m high on the Johannisegge, offers the best view far beyond Borgholzhausen. The tower can be climbed at any time for free. Depending on the weather, you have a magnificent panoramic view from the top platform.

            Did you walk all the way up from Borgholzhausen and dread another climb? Don't, because this one is definitely worth it! The view here is unique to the Teutoburger Wald because you look out from one ridge in the Hermannshöhe to the other. Nearby is a car park (great if you don't feel like that climb from Borgholzhausen), and with a bit of luck the gaststätte at the bottom of the tower will be open.

                        The restaurant is open on weekends: luisenturmhuette.de. I got a piece of cake and a cappuccino there for a fair price, and it was delicious, too 🙂.
