I strongly recommend the small detour to the 4 Burgenblick if you walk the Dimbacher Buntsandsteinhöhenweg. The place is much nicer live than the pictures can show !!! The three castles of Trifels, Madenburg and Neu Scharfeneck are relatively easy to spot. At the Ramburg it will be difficult if not impossible without binoculars or great weather conditions.
The Vierburgenblick has two covered benches that are suitable for all weather conditions and a viewing bench with a stone table.

After a short but steep ascent from Gossersweiler, you reach the 4-Burgen Blick. A refuge and a bench invite you to take a break and enjoy the view. From here you have a great view of Madenburg, Trifels, Neuscharfeneck and Ramburg.

The small detour from the Limbacher Buntsandstein Höhenweg to the Vierburgenblick is worthwhile! From the main route there is a path about 300 meters away. But then, with good visibility, you have a view of 4 castles: Ramburg, Neu Scharfeneck, Trifels and Madenburg.

If you walk the Dimbacher Buntsandstein Höhenweg uphill, you'll come to a signpost on the way to Rötzenberg indicating a detour to the 4-Castle Viewpoint at 300 meters.
This detour is truly worthwhile and shouldn't be missed. However, from this point, you'll walk back down the elevation gain you've just gained, only to climb it again as you continue along the Dimbacher Buntsandstein Höhenweg. If you don't continue up the hiking trail at the point where you cross the wide path (and where there's a bench a few meters to the right), but instead turn left, you can continue the climb to the 4-Castle Viewpoint a little further and continue up the path from there. This saves you the additional elevation gain. At the top, you'll rejoin the Dimbacher Buntsandstein Höhenweg and continue toward Rötzfelsen.
In the opposite direction, the route is the other way around (from the 4-Burgenblick, continue down and then to the left).
