If you want to go on tours somewhere else in the valley...leave the car behind and take the bus with a bike trailer...completely uncomplicated...bike on the back...and even without a ticket you can easily pay the driver...top service 👍😊.

Oetz, the centre of the front Ötztal, lies at the foot of the 3,008 m high Acherkogel, the northernmost three-thousand-metre peak in the Alps. The Ötztaler Ache river flows through the village and is ideal for water sports, which is why Oetz is often the venue for kayak championships.

The most popular excursion destination in summer is Lake Piburger See, which can be reached on a hike from the village. This natural jewel is one of the warmest bathing lakes in Tyrol and is ideal for a boat trip. Those interested in culture will also get their money's worth, as the centre of Oetz is home to beautifully painted houses from the 16th century, such as the Stecher and Tscholl houses. The tower museum is also worth a visit: many images document the history of the region - the museum was awarded the Tyrol State Museum Prize in 2005. If you would like to enjoy a view of the mountains, you can walk to the late Gothic-Baroque parish church above the village.
