Droyßig has a bear tradition going back a hundred years and even has the animal on its coat of arms. There were even two outbreaks in the 1950s, but they all ended lightly. Originally it was wolves. But bears were more attractive to tourists.

A special castle that was used as living space in GDR times and unfortunately fell into disrepair. When I last visited, 18 years ago, the renovation work was about to begin. Unfortunately you don't see much of it yet. Still an imposing building
